Resolve Protection Disabled Error on Trend Micro Security Program

Users may have come cross ‘Protection Disabled’ error while using the antivirus. It occurs due to three reasons. The first one is that the subscription license does not include the device anymore. Second could be that there is another software installed on your computer which is hampering the antivirus functions. A third reason is related to the Potentially Unwanted Applications (or PUA) or malware, or the fourth one could be the download failure or unsuccessful install updates.

  • Reactivate the program by clicking on the Activate Now button. 
  • Type the name of the computer in the next window that appears.
  • Click Next, then click Finish.

  • Right click on the red ball icon (Trend Micro icon) on your desktop/system tray. 
  • Hit Exit.
  • The icon will be disabled from your system.
  • Then enable it again.

  • Remove PUA or reinstall the antivirus if necessary.
